*Sports Day on Friday
Today we learned/reviewed;
- Math: We did more probability; we did 3 experiments - rolled dice 30 times and recorded what number it landed on; 5 cubes of one color and 1 cube of another color in a bag and we had to pick a cube 30 times and record the color we picked, flipped a coin 40 times and recorded heads or tails; we learned that for the coin, the results were fairly close together; we learned that with the cubes, the one with more colors got picked more often; the dice experiment had results that were all over the place because there were more possible outcomes; we solved a sudoku puzzle
- Science: We researched 4 types of clouds: cirrus, stratus, nimbus and cumulus

*Field trip forms - due ASAP
Today we learned/reviewed:
- Math: We continued working on the 2D and 3D geometry project; we learned that it can be hard to do a legend on a "built" project, we looked at edges that were parallel, perpendicular, intersecting, vertical and horizontal
- LA: We continued working on our stories; we learned how to write endings to stories; we read Space Case and learned that Daphne was not at the memorial for Dr. Holtz, when Nina was talking about Dr. Holtz, lots of people fell asleep because it was boring, the Sjorbergs didn't come to the memorial
- Science: We continued working on our cars; we learned that we have to "trouble shoot" when our cars don't go straight, when we get frustrated, take a deep breath or ask for help and work with the person to figure out what is happening (don't let the other person do all the work)

*A note from Mrs. Smith
Please encourage your child to practice their recorder. Our short classes do not allow sufficient time for practicing of new skills that are taught. As little as five minutes a day can have a very positive impact on student progress! As we continue to work on recorder, students who are practicing are coming prepared to learn new skills and students who don't are becoming frustrated when they aren't able to keep up. The only way to remember note names, notes on the staff, and fingering positions, is through repeated exposure during practice. The recorder can be a beautiful and rewarding instrument to play if sufficient time is given to practicing!
Thank you for your support!
