Agenda:
1. Read 20 minutes
2. Art - memories page - due Tuesday
*Sports Day on Friday
What we learned today:
LA - we finished the novel, Hatchet. We liked this novel because: it seemed realistic, it was funny at times, it was a story of survival, it highlighted the fact that if we were stranded in the wilderness, we may have problems.
Math- We tried sudoku; some loved it, some didn't. We completed 3 probability experiments; first we predicted outcomes then we recorded our results. The first experiment we flipped a coin to see if it would land on heads or tails. We found that heads and tails were very close in the number count. Experiment #2: we rolled the dice to see what number came up and recorded the results. Experiment #3: we had a bag with 6 blocks inside. 5 blocks of one color and 1 of another color. We recorded the results of picking one block at a time, 30 times.

Please encourage your child to practice their recorder. Our short classes do not allow sufficient time for practicing of new skills that are taught. As little as five minutes a day can have a very positive impact on student progress! As we continue to work on recorder, students who are practicing are coming prepared to learn new skills and students who don't are becoming frustrated when they aren't able to keep up. The only way to remember note names, notes on the staff, and fingering positions, is through repeated exposure during practice. The recorder can be a beautiful and rewarding instrument to play if sufficient time is given to practicing!
Thank you for your support!
